We can all appreciate the term, aging gracefully. Do we know exactly what this means?  When we think of growing older, it is always affiliated with pain and discomfort. We read about ways to improve our inner mind and body but the focus should also be about our environment. By taking care of our surroundings of where you reside, can lead us to a healthy and happy years to come.  

It is said that home is where the heart is, and your home should be a place of sanctuary.  It should not be a source of element and emotional stress. Creating a healthy home is more complicated than you think. Many of us have allergies that sometimes lead to illness. You may want to remove unwanted carpets or other dust catchers, bathing pets on a regular basis, and investing in an air filter. You will find dehumidifiers and humidifiers online, which can help reduce elements in your home that causes allergies.   

Your home should be nurturing. If there is lack of comfort in your living space, try the following:

Bring the outdoors in. Cut flowers bring in pieces of rocks or other natural elements that gives you a sense of nature.

Put green plants in your home. This is essential to filtering indoor pollutants.  The recommendation for the quantity of plants is two plants to every 100 feet. In addition, the plants will distribute natural oxygen throughout your home. What a great way to live a healthy aging life.

Fewer items means less frustration, clean out the clutter, let go of the things you do not use or need. If you think you need these items, sit down and weigh out the pros and cons. If you see that the cons are higher than the pros, get rid of it. Let it go.

In addition, take advantage of the sun; allow as much sunlight as possible to flow through your house. This gives you’re home a feeling of warmth. Take care that you avoid direct sunlight however for prolonged periods, since the sun can cause harm.

Did you know that colors effect your emotionally and affect the way you feel in a home?  Every color has a significant meaning that could represent our physical and mental state.  For instance:

Red room:  Energizing, supports energy and passion and creates movement.  Great for an exercise room, not beneficial in your bedroom.  

Yellow room:  Inspires organization, intellectual clarity with happy thinking.  Even by using the color yellow as accents instead of painting, all walls will be positive.  

Green room:  Brings balance and tranquility but has the same energizing qualities.  Often used as a calming place for thinking for people in trouble or just needing to feel refreshed, since natural is our first established home. We all love nature, rather most of us do. Green plants, flowers, etc all bring nature into focus, which makes the heart feel good.

White room:  Essential for feeling cleansed and purified. Remember that too much white brings a sterile environment that can also become isolated. Make sure to accent a white room with a vibrant color when painting all white. This is a perfect color for ceilings to brighten up with sunlight.  

Improving your life could easily start in the home, whether its trying something new with something natural or changing a color, these are easy methods to create harmony and balance in your surroundings, not to mention inspiration and warmth. The more effort you put into aging healthy, the more you will see good results.

Tip: Animals has proven to be a source of healing. Allow a friendly critter to touch your heart.

In our increasingly stressful world more and more people are looking to natural herbal products to relieve stress and lead a healthy life. These can be used in a traditional massage setting or in baths, and they work like magic.

Before we can truly love others we first need to learn to love ourselves unconditionally, which for many people can be the most challenging part of their spiritual growth. We can be so busy “loving” others and “doing” for others that we neglect ourselves. How can we truly allow ourselves to be loved by another if we don’t even know how to love ourselves first?

If we don’t factor in time in our lives on a daily basis for self-love and self-nurturing we are being hypocritical and not in our integrity. Any “love” we are giving out to others is likely to be tainted with resentment about meeting their needs and not ours or be conditional upon getting something back from that person. Beginning to sound familiar? Probably the vast majority of us can relate to the above. No wonder our hearts have been closing down vibrationally. Unconditional love requires nothing in return – it just is.

Unconditional love is what your dog gives you. Owning a pet gives people an opportunity to just naturally open their heart up to unconditional love as they feel the purity of their animal’s love and know it is not manipulative or calculating nor does it have a hidden agenda. An animal does not care how you look, what job you have, how much money you make, what car you drive or the house you live in. I feel animals are far closer spiritually to God than we are.

In our materialistic society the majority of people confuse self-love and self-nurturing with amassing physical possessions, such as fancy cars, big houses, lots of clothes, etc. How many people do we know who seem to have all the material things yet are depressed and empty inside. Hollywood is full of them. So-called self-nurturing may also be excessive consumption of alcohol, over-eating junk food, being a couch potato in front of the television, all of which are injurious to our health and do nothing to nourish us at a soul-level, where the real need for nurturing lies.

Let’s look at some positive soul-healing ways to nurture and love yourself:

*. Laugh a lot – 10 minutes of laughter in the morning boosts your immune system, increases productivity and gives you a good attitude. Try it in the shower, while exercising or just about any time. Laughter uses every muscle in the body and releases endorphins, the happy hormones.

* Enjoy guilt-free downtime – Be sure to build in regular reward breaks of 10-15 minutes after completing a task. That way you don’t need to feel guilty about stopping for a break. Walk outside, put your feet up, read, phone a friend or just do nothing.

* Have a warm aromatherapy bath with candles – Add beautiful music, take a good book to read, turn the answering machine on, meditate or whatever you are guided to. Enjoy!

*Take yourself to a beautiful place in nature – Walk, sit or just contemplate.

*Enjoy good conversations with friends

*Hug your pet or your child

The most important steps to help clear your acne fast is to stop doing things that can worsen your acne condition. Most acne sufferers continued to have bad acne no matter what acne treatment they’ve used simply because they’re avoiding these 5 acne tips:

Use soap with natural ingredients – make sure that everything you wash yourself with or anything that you put on your body is natural and does not contain any toxic chemicals.  

Soaps, shampoos, or detergents that are not natural contain toxic chemicals in them that can irritate or aggravate acne worsening your acne condition.  

So try to get soaps that are as natural as possible (100% natural if possible). Hint: the less ingredients there are the less toxic it will be.  

Also stay away from deodorants, perfume and cologne. If you really need it, use 100% pure planetcentral oil but no perfume oils.  

Wash bed sheets, blankets and pillow cases often – dirty bed sheets, blankets and especially pillow cases can soak up the oils from your skin, dock bacteria and germs then reapply it to your skin when you sleep on it again.  

This will worsen your acne conditions. So wash them regularly and of course, don’t forget to use natural detergent when washing them.  

Avoid Touching Acne Affected Areas –if you touch acne affected areas with unclean hands you can easily transfer bacteria or germs to that area which will worsen your acne condition.  

So don’t touch acne affected areas with your hands unless you just got done washing them. Because you can easily get germs or bacteria on your hands by opening the door, using someone’s pen or pencil, petting a cat or dog, etc.  

Avoid Picking Or Scratching Your Pimples – Picking or scratching pimples can induce bacterial infection and aggravate acne. It may also cause scarring.  

Wash Gently And Avoid Scrubbing or Using Abrasives – Scrubbing or using abrasives when washing your skin will irritate and aggravate acne, making it worse.  

So avoid scrubbing or abrasives at all cost and just wash your face gently with your bare hands and pad it dry with a soft towel. And again, remember to use natural soap or face wash.

Despite their reputation for deadly attacks on humans and pets, alligators are finding their way toward a new role as potential lifesavers in medicine.

Biochemists in Louisiana at the 235th national meeting of the American Chemical Society reported that gator blood may provide a source of powerful new antibiotics to help fight infections associated with diabetic ulcers, severe burns, and “superbugs” that are resistant to conventional medication.

Recently a National Geographic team that studied crocodiles in Australia and America reported that an antidote in crocodiles and alligators kills bacteria which is normally untreatable with normal antibiotics.

The crocodile expert, Dr Adam Britton says they are territorial and often fight each other. When they do, they can lose limbs and are sometimes left with gaping wounds. Regardless of these gruesome injuries and the fact that their environment is conducive to serious infection (and possibly death), the crocodiles heal very fast with minimal infection. That proves that they are immune to bacterial infections.

Scientists took blood samples from crocodiles to establish why they don’t get sick and found they have what they describe as an “unusual anti-microbic

peptide”.

Where the new ’super’ product has been applied to HIV, West Nile virus and E-coli, these have diminished.

The problem however is that the product cannot simply be harvested and injected into humans – the body will immediately realise it is ‘foreign’ and reject it. The fat of crocodiles can however be rubbed into the skin and should benefit from the ’super peptides’.

“We’re very excited about the potential of these alligator blood proteins as both antibacterial and antifungal agents,” says study co-author Mark Merchant, Ph.D., a biochemist at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. “There’s a real possibility that you could be treated with an alligator blood product one day.”

When the alligator serum was exposed to HIV the researchers found that a good amount of the virus was destroyed.

The study team thinks that pills and creams containing reptile peptides could be available at local pharmacies within seven to ten years. But already there is a company in South Africa which has been producing a skin balm made from crocodile oil since 2005 known as Repcillin.

“It is a 100% natural skin balm and it is available now but only in small quantities.

Does this mean the end of the crocodile?

“No” say Repcillin, the manufacturers of crocodile oil products. “People farm with them for their meat as they would with chickens and cattle. The meat is low in cholesterol and is a delicacy in restaurants all over the world. There is less than 300g fat on a single crocodile. Medicinal crocodile oil is harvested from the fat which is a waste product and normally disposed of unless it is used for medical purposes.

This natural oil is healing numerous skin problems around the world, but there is not enough available for the mass market.
